Datamars was founded in 1988 as a joint venture between the technology companies Datalogic and Audemars to develop, design and manufacture state-of-the-art RFID solutions. The company quickly established itself as a world leader in RFID solutions for the animal and textile identification markets.

Following a management buy-out in 1991, the company continued to grow rapidly. The company's successful philosophy has always been to integrate transponder and reader development, maintain a cutting-edge technology for low-cost in-house manufacture and develop an in-depth knowledge of customer requirements.

In 2006, Datamars expanded into Asia and became the only vertically integrated company designing and producing all key components of RFID solutions for the animal and textile identification markets. In addition to preparing the company for global sourcing and higher volume manufacturing, expansion into Asia also allows us to serve Asia Pacific markets locally.

Starting in 2006, a new management team began to prepare the company for its third decade of RFID leadership with innovative new ISO-compliant RFID solutions and the use of improved bio-plastic materials, setting new landmarks in product development.

Today, Datamars employs more than 350 employees globally with offices in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
